Within their glistening winery, Ben’s methods are meticulous, research-led and firmly grounded in science. Whilst their techniques are definitely innovative, Flint emphasize that they respect the role intuition and tradition play in winemaking. This blend of innovation and tradition is highlighted by their choice of logo - a venn diagram motif which symbolises the scientific process of combining elements to create something new and unique.
After receiving significant funding from the Eastern Agri-tech Growth Initiative, Ben has conducted a collection of eye opening research into the aroma profile of the Bacchus grape - one of England’s signature grape varieties. A further grant from the Rural Development Programme, enabled Flint to develop their winery with state of the art equipment including a hyper-reductive press.
