Lyme Bay

The Story

This successful Devonian drinks producer has built a strong reputation for its range of unique beverages. Having established themselves back in 1992, Lyme Bay originally specialised in ciders. This eventually diversified to include an extensive range of fruit wines and liqueurs.

Their managing director, James Lambert, joined the team in 2006 with the intention of diversifying further by making their own English wine. Since planting in 2010 and releasing their first vintage in 2015, Lyme Bay have won successive national and international awards for their sparkling and still wines.  

Much of their recent success is down to exceptional talent of Liam Idzidowski, a talented wine maker with experience at Camel Valley, Hush Heath and most recently, Langham Estate.

Each vintage since 2015 has seen their wines collect numerous awards. Recent successes include Gold medals for their 2016 Pinot Noir at both the IEWA and Somellier Wine Awards and their 2016 Chardonnay at the International Wine Challenge (the only English still wine to do so). 

As Lyme Bay continue to innovate and expand their range, we expect this top producer will produce more fine English Wine to be proud of.
