Sharpham Barrel Fermented 2016

Only the best block of Sharpham’s seven acres of Madeleine Angevine is selected for this wine. The fruit is picked by hand before being de-stemmed and crush. Free run juice is separated before making its way to stainless steel. The wine goes through a full malolactic fermentation before being matured is older French oak for nine months during which time the lees are stirred once a week.

A rich a broad wine showcasing Madeleines versatility. Aromas of smoke and vanilla but also some of the trademark gooseberry and nettle from Madeleine but also with a childhood hint of cream soda from the malo. Fuller in body, gently textured from the lees stirring and oak and with the all important acidity that freshens up the finish. We love this wine.
